SEWER LIFT STATIONS AND SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS: Sewer lift stations have a large problem maintaining clean conditions, not only for full flow but also to prevent untimely replacement of expensive equipment. The introduction of Biostat on a maintenance schedule will not only keep the station clean and free from oil & grease and solids build-ups, it will also inhibit the waste passing through the station by placing it under digestion before ever reaching the waste treatment facility. The ultimate result will be the increase in the waste handling capabilities of the wastewater plant. Using Biostat in the lift stations and in the treatment plant will result in a 50% increase in plant efficiency. The resulting reduction in chemical costs associated with disinfection and solids processing and transportation, and the reduction in maintenance costs, more than justifies the addition of Biostat to the waste treatment system. NOTE: The above outlined process is referred to in the wastewater industry as BIO-AUGMENTATION. Many waste treatment facilities today utilize anaerobic digesters for sludge processing. By adding Biostat to an operating anaerobic digester, a ready supply of high quality methane gas is produced for heating and as a supplementary power source. The digester supernatant is available for use in composting operations or as a high quality liquid nutrient fertilizer for spray field application. The solid by-product (sludge) is also a high quality nitrogenous organic fertilizer, well suited for land application. Hydrogen Sulfide gases (rotten egg odor) are reduced both in the collection system and the wastewater treatment facility. Countries around the world are building large capacity digesters, not only to process solid wastes, but to produce methane for self-sufficient power and to produce high quality fertilizers for land application.
